A Project Manager is the person who oversees the planning and delivery of your event from start to finish. They’re responsible for timelines, budgets, suppliers and crew, making sure everything comes together seamlessly.
They’re the leaders who balance big-picture strategy with day-to-day detail.
They are involved with the client from day one. Often managing the weekly calls in the run up to the live event onsite. Formulating all the plans for delivery onsite and everything that goes along with that.
What They Do
Event Project Managers scope out requirements, create timelines, and assign responsibilities across the team. They liaise with suppliers, manage freelancers, book catering, and ensure client expectations are clear and achievable.
They’re also responsible for budgets – tracking costs, approving expenses, and making sure the event delivers value. They will also be the ones to handle the tricky conversation when more money may be needed to deliver the client’s vision.
During onsite delivery, they are not involved with the AV side of things. They remain onsite ‘office’ based and oversee logistics and troubleshoot issues in real time.
They work closely with the venue and any other suppliers to ensure everything runs smoothly and to time.
A Project Manager is often the main point of contact for the client, giving them confidence that everything is under control.
