Classic symptom of silly season chaos… and a sure sign (if I didn’t already know) that I need a holiday.
Thankfully, the sparkly season is approaching, which means we’ll all get a little breather very soon.

How last-minute is last-minute?
Everyone has a different definition of last-minute.
Some people apologise if they come to me with less than two weeks’ notice.
Others ask for someone tomorrow!
Tomorrow actually happens quite often, usually because of illness or because the end client suddenly realises their show is way more complicated than they originally thought.
So, what’s last-minute for you?
A few days? A week? The morning of?

How quickly can I find someone?
That all depends on what you’re after… but the truth is, not long.
I’ve been known to turn around a Showcaller request in the time it takes me to order and collect a latte at Starbucks.
This week, it took 10 minutes from the initial message to confirming someone perfect for the job. The brief was trickier too. The client needed a Showcaller that could read a music score and not everyone can do that!

The Fluffy Menace…
We got absolutely drenched mid-week in that torrential rain… and I swear I’ve never met a dog who loves being soaked quite as much!
Tail wagging, charging through puddles, and generally making sure we were both dripping wet.
Thankfully it wasn’t freezing… because cold and soaked is my personal version of misery.
Training is still ongoing. Some things he’s nailed. Others… not so much.
Let’s just say ‘leave it’ currently translates to ‘look Mum in the eye and chew it anyway.’
But we’re getting there. Slowly. And least he gives good cuddles!
