How We Work

Clear. Calm. No drama.

Maverick Event Show Crew exists to make events feel easier.

Not by oversimplifying things – events are complex – but by putting the right people in the right roles, communicating clearly, and staying calm when plans shift (because they always do).

This page sets out how we work: how we book, how we charge, how we communicate, and why clients trust Maverick to support high-pressure events with confidence.

No jargon. No noise. Just a clear way of working that delivers.

How We Book

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Clients tend to work with Maverick in one of the following ways:

Crew Supply – Simple

You know exactly which roles you need.

We supply trusted, experienced freelancers and handle all booking requirements and communication.

If you’d like, we can connect you directly with the freelancer before the event and you can manage the communication.

Crew Supply – Extended

We come onboard during your planning phase to help shape the crew structure.

We supply the disciplines you need and stay close to the event as it evolves – ideal for complex or high-pressure shows.

We can manage all bookings and communication, or introduce you to the freelancers once roles are confirmed.

Our Process

We keep our process clear and intentional – because clarity saves time and stress.

  • 01. Brief & Reality Check: We listen properly, ask the right questions, and sense-check what’s actually needed.
  • 02. Crew Selection: We match the right people to the brief – based on experience, temperament, and fit.
  • 03. Booking & Confirmation: Roles are pencilled in and expectations set while we await your confirmation.
  • 04. Pre-Event Communication: We stay close as the event approaches and adapt if things change.
  • 05. Onsite Delivery: Calm, capable crew doing what they do best.
  • 06. Post-Event Wrap-Up: Clear follow-up and continuity for future events.

No complicated systems. No endless email chains. Just a process that works.

Where Maverick Stands Apart

  • Fast turnaround: even when timelines are tight – requests often fulfilled within minutes
  • Location knowledge: we know the right people in all the right places – keeping costs down
  • People, not databases: we deal in individuals, not numbers
  • Proven expertise: as freelancers ourselves, we know what works
  • Clear communication: no surprises

How We Charge

We believe in transparent pricing and clear expectations from the start.

Our fees are based on discipline, level of responsibility, and event pressure – not guesswork. You’ll always receive a clear quote upfront, with allowances where necessary and no surprise invoices post-event.

We typically charge in one of two ways:

With a Finder’s Fee

Longer or more complex projects attract a day rate plus a Finder’s Fee. Both vary depending on discipline.

Example:
A recent booking for a Senior Producer over a 12-day pre-production period was quoted at:
£525 per day, plus travel and expenses, plus a £525 Finder’s Fee.

A one-day booking for a Technician (dependent on discipline) would typically be:
£350-£400 plus travel and expenses, plus a £99 Finder’s Fee.

Without a Finder’s Fee

For most one-day bookings, we charge a single-day rate.

Example:
A one-day corporate awards event requiring a Showcaller would typically attract a rate of £495 plus travel and expenses.

All final costs depend on timings, location, travel, accommodation, subsistence, pre-production requirements, and overall responsibility.
