Morning!
Another Monday… but this one hits a bit differently.
First MoM of 2026. New year, same chaos, and absolutely no illusion that the event world is suddenly going to behave itself.
But… I’m excited.
A few days of rest, the luxury of a slightly quieter inbox, and one or two proper functional sleeps have given me enough energy to feel some lovely New Year optimism.
And as I sat down to write this, I realised I’d learned a few things last year too.
Proper things.
Not just “always pack snacks” (although… still valid).
2025 taught me…
People matter more than processes.
Systems help, but the humans make it work. And talking to more humans daily – rather than relying on emails and WhatsApps – is a game changer.
Clarity saves time. Good communication fixes 80% of chaos.
Saying exactly what you mean, early, solves so many problems.
Being open with your communication fixes almost everything else.
Who you work with changes everything.
Events are only ever as good as the people in the trenches with you.
Nothing new here, but a great reminder.
So that’s all in my back pocket as we head into 2026.
- More clarity.
- More brilliant people.
- More calm… and more chats.
- And fewer 2am panics.

Our first booking of 2026 arrived the day after New Year’s Day.

Dougal + Snow = Chaos
Dougal’s first onsite of 2026 (the park, covered in snow) was… a lot.
He sprinted, skidded, rolled, ate a bit of ice, barked at absolutely nothing, and proudly came back for snacks.
A menace.
But a very fluffy one, sporting a new hair-do and now 7 months old.
